Today, I’m celebrating the love of my life, the man of my dreams, my prince charming and knight in shining armor. Happy Birthday, Adam Acevedo!
Happy Birthday, Babe!
I’m celebrating your strength and resilience. I’ve seen you live through surgeries, financial ups and downs, cross-country moves, family drama, job changes, two kids, one guinea pig and so much more … and every time you amaze me with your cool, “God has everything under control” and “it’s all going to be ok” attitude. I’m glad God brought you into my life because He knew you were exactly what I needed.
I’m celebrating the way you love me as your wife every single day, when I look really cute and when I’m extra cranky. That is nothing short of a dream. It’s all my favorite romantic comedy happy endings rolled into one amazing relationship. We can stand in the kitchen, laughing over organic, grass-fed flowers to bring closure to an argument. You say yes when I ask you for the millionth selfie (lol). You might roll your eyes, but you always say yes. You stand with me in front of the Magic Kingdom at Disney World (again), wondering how you ended up back there (again), but you still hold my hand when you notice that I’m wiping away tears during Festival of Fantasy parades and Wishes fireworks shows. You really ARE my prince charming.
I’m celebrating the amazing, fun, loving, involved Father that you are to our kids. You bless them and pray over them every night before they go to sleep. You make sure they have sports uniforms, get to their activities on time and mind their manners. You’ve built legos and filled coloring books (both yours and the kids … lol!). You’ve picked out pretty outfits for Allyson and have asked her to change if it’s not “daddy approved.” You tickle them and make them laugh like nobody else (YIELD!!!) You’re the dad who pulls over to the side of the road to make sure little animals are ok (Allyson takes after you so much in that.) And Christopher is the leader he is because he’s seen those leadership qualities in you and learned from watching you in action.
I’m celebrating your amazing creativity and drive. You are passionate in everything you do. When we were dating and we both had different jobs and dreams, I saw that it didn’t matter what you did (working with your aunt and uncle’s interior design business or at the thermo-electric power plant), people recognized your value and promotions quickly followed. It’s been absolutely incredible to see how, after years of volunteering in churches doing what you love (tech, media, graphics, etc…), God turned that passion into a full time job at one of the most amazing churches we’ve ever been a part of. And your first year there, of course, you were recognized as Rookie of the Year! I know Christopher still mentions that. He’s so proud to be your son. Allyson loves being your princess. And I love being your wife.
I wish I could give you the whole entire WORLD today for your birthday, Babe! But, after God, you’re the only one who has my heart … even if a prison ministry event happened to fall on your birthday weekend (of course). LOL! God willing, we’ll keep the celebrations going when I come back!
Laughing (and celebrating my love’s birthday) through life,
Coppelia
P.S. Yes, I did get teary-eyed writing this. LOL! I LOVE YOU so much, Babe!!! <3 <3 <3
