Game Night Fun Ideas for Your Family! | 28 Day Challenge to Fill Your Home with Love

Do you have a favorite game that you grew up playing? Was it Uno, Monopoly or Chutes and Ladders? (I used to LOVE all 3!) The Game of “Life” was another favorite board game. And my grandma taught my brother and sister and I to play Solitaire and other card games, which I loved playing often when we went over to her house in Puerto Rico. Old Maid and Go Fish were fun, too! All this talk about board games has me wanting to plan a fun game night with my family. And it’s not just fun — things like these help fill our homes with love!

Game night fun for your family!

Need some ideas for Game Night with your family? Check this out! It’s a fun, simple way to share some old games you love with your fam, discover new games and fill your home with love!

This is part of the 28 Day Challenge to Fill Your Home with Love!  If you haven’t joined us yet, you can easily do it here. Just enter your email below!

Today is Day 16 of the Challenge: Have fun with Game Night!

If you’ve been following this 28 day challenge to fill our homes with love, yesterday’s challenge was to plan a movie night. Today, we’re planning a fun game night. These things may sound so simple … why even include them in the challenge? I’ll tell you exactly why:

If we don’t plan intentional, quality (and even fun) time with our family, it often just doesn’t happen.

[click_to_tweet tweet=”If we don’t plan intentional, quality (and even fun) time with our family, it often doesn’t happen. So let’s plan a fun family game night! ” quote=”If we don’t plan intentional, quality (and even fun) time with our family, it often doesn’t happen. So let’s plan a fun family game night! “]

Our schedules are overflowing with work, school, activities and, honestly, things to do around the house. It’s way easier to spend a Friday or Saturday night “catching up on laundry,” than setting that basket of unfolded clothes aside and sitting down to a fun game of DUTCH BLITZ! (If you haven’t heard of it, look it up! It’s one of my favorite fast-paced card games!)

So I’m sharing a few of our family’s favorite Board Games, card games, electronics and more to inspire you to plan YOUR next family game night! (And if you can invite anther family along, even better!)

Coppelia and her daughter with Mr. Incredible at Disney World!

When we’re not playing board games at home, you might find us planning Disney trips so we can go hang out with Mr. Incredible and all our other favorite characters! Ha!

Our Family’s Favorite Games

Note: I’m sharing my Amazon Affiliate Links below. If you click and buy, I get a small commission at no extra cost to you!

  • Uno! Gotta start with the classic card game. It’s a family favorite for sure!

  • Have you heard of Uno FLASH?! It’s a crazy fun, fast Uno … with an electronic console, a buzzer and it lights up so you play in random order. It’s so cool!

  • Classic Monopoly is great, but if you’re gonna pick a theme, you can’t go wrong with Star Wars! We are huge fans, have loved EVERY movie (except maybe Episode I with Jar Jar Binks…) And we can’t wait for Star Wars Land to open at the Disney parks this year!

  • If you’re gonna go “old school,” do it with this RETRO version of Chutes and Ladders! It seriously reminded me of my childhood! So cool that they make this!

  • Two words: Dutch Blitz. You need a friend in your life to teach you this game. Shout out to my blogger friend Mel & her hubby Clyde for bringing this crazy fun game into our lives!

  • This game, Hedbanz, to be honest, made me roll my eyes at first. I thought no one would wear that “headband” and it would be a waste of money. But my family proved me wrong! Everyone, including my hubby, wore the “bandz!” And, on top of laughing at each other for looking ridiculous, the game was actually fun!

And there are so many more games!

The more I looked, the more fun games I found! We might need to schedule more than a few game nights in the near future!

And I’d love to hear what are YOUR family favorites in the comments below! What would YOU add to this list?

Can’t wait to hear from you!

Laughing (and playing) thru life,

Coppelia

We love board games around here! We have a monthly family game night with my husband’s siblings and their families and it was our turn to host this month. They were here Tuesday and we had a blast! All the kids played in the backyard while the adults played Family Feud and Taboo. We ended at almost midnight. It’s true what they say, time flies when you’re having fun!

That sounds AMAZING! With extended family? I remember doing that when we were in Puerto Rico and had more family nearby. But now that we’re moving closer to my sister, we’ll have to plan a game night with the primos! LOL!
