This whole week has been a whirlwind. My first week as a forty-something could’ve been a bummer (oh no, I’m getting OLD!) LOL! But it turned out to be exactly the opposite! I’m excited and I can’t wait to dive in to my 40s! WOOHOOO!!! 😀

I think a big reason in this mindset change has been the amazing women I’ve been featuring here on my blog this week. Family, friends, women who have influenced me for the better, have set a great example about what it means to thrive in your 40s and beyond … it’s been great to hear from each one. And today’s special guest is no different.

Gerrie Mills is an author, speaker, wife, mom, grandma and all-around incredible woman! We met in California, when my hubby Adam and I were a young couple with our little son Christopher, looking for a church. We felt God call us to The Ridge Church and pretty quickly found that it was the place! We loved Pastor Tim, his wife Michelle and their whole family. And when we met Pastor T’s mom, Gerrie and her husband, Pastor Clyde, we knew we had just met a pretty special, incredible family. (Shout out to ALL our church family at The Ridge: Matt, Krystal and everyone!!!)

Gerrie has written two books, “Oy Vey! Such a Deal!” and “Holy Chutzpah! Snapshots of Everyday Faith.” These are my affiliate links here below, so feel free to click on them to check out Gerrie’s books on Amazon! If you decide to buy them, I get a small commission at no extra cost to you. Thanks!

I reached out to Gerrie and invited her to be a part of my special “Turning Forty” vlog (video+blog) series this week and was thrilled that she said YES! Check out the video below, and don’t miss the special song at the end of the video! It’s a sweet song that her grandsons, the amazing Welch Brothers, wrote for their grandma. Check it out!
